Welcome to Verba. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our site, including any content, articles, downloads, comments, and membership features (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please discontinue using the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that you meet this age requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and current.
2. Accounts
Some features require a free account; premium features require an active paid subscription. You are responsible for:
- keeping your login credentials confidential;
- all activity that occurs under your account;
- notifying us immediately of any unauthorised access.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, attempt fraud, or pose a risk to other users.
3. Acceptable use
When using the Service, you agree not to:
- post content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or infringes someone else’s rights;

- upload viruses, malware, or any code intended to disrupt the Service;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system or account;

4. Intellectual property
All articles, images, illustrations, design elements, and original code published on Verba are the property of Verba Editorial or our contributing authors and are protected by copyright and trademark law.
You may share article links freely. Quoting brief excerpts (under 100 words) for review or commentary is welcome, provided you cite the source and link back.
Republishing, mirroring, translating, or syndicating full articles requires our written permission.
5. User-generated content
When you post comments, submit guest articles, or contribute any other content to the Service, you grant Verba a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, edit lightly for clarity, distribute, and display that content as part of operating the Service. You retain ownership of your original work.
You represent that the content you submit is your own original work, or that you have explicit permission to use it, and that it does not infringe any third party’s rights.
We reserve the right to remove any content for any reason, particularly content that violates these Terms or applicable law.
6. Subscriptions and payments
Premium memberships are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) at the rate displayed at checkout. By subscribing, you authorise Verba to charge your payment method on each renewal date until you cancel.
- Cancellation — cancel anytime from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not issue prorated refunds for unused time.
- Refunds — first-time subscribers may request a full refund within 14 days of the initial charge by emailing support.
- Failed payments — we retry over 7 days; if the charge still fails, your premium access is paused until the issue is resolved.
- Price changes — we notify you at least 30 days in advance of any subscription price change.
7. Third-party links and services
Articles may link to or embed third-party content — videos, podcasts, products, social embeds. We do not control these third parties and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or availability. Following an external link means you leave the Service and are governed by the destination’s terms.
8. Disclaimers
The Service and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”. We do our best to keep things accurate and up to date, but we make no warranties — express or implied — about completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.
Articles on health, finance, legal, or other specialist topics are journalism, not professional advice. Always consult a qualified professional for advice specific to your situation.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Verba and its contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total cumulative liability for any claim related to the Service is capped at the greater of the amount you paid us in the past 12 months and €100.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Verba, its team, and contributors from any claim or demand — including reasonable legal fees — arising from content you submit, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right.
11. Termination
You may close your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any breach of these Terms.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination — intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law — continue to apply.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and the country in which Verba Editorial is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes are resolved in the competent courts of that country, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country provides otherwise.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes are announced via email or an in-site banner at least 14 days in advance. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of an update means you accept the revised Terms.
